Fantastic book about the psychological trauma that effects people under colonialism, and how the trauma continues during decolonisation. In this book you a have the figure of “hero” questioned, and a how the desire for a hero is placed upon someone who wants to be left alone, a “hermit”. The book is also about deception, secrets and confessions. It takes one the colonial tools (the bible) and use it as a tool of resistance.
