Ski Lodge owner Kayla Wolff is dating former Army Ranger Nate Grayson, but she still feels guilty about a former relationship gone wrong. What if dating Nate leads her down the same path as before? Nate is now a private investigator in the wolf pack-run Silver Town, where he's settling in and doing a great job. He wants to give Kayla time to sort out her feelings. He knows she's under a lot of stress taking over more of the management of the lodge because both her brothers' mates are having twins. Nate has had to take over more of the workload at the PI agency himself while his own sister is on maternity leave, so he does his best to be a shoulder for Kayla to lean on. But when his investigation into an abandoned safe and set of keys at the lodge turns a dangerous corner, Kayla and Nate are certain that there's no other wolf they'd rather be with.
