When Wesley Sumner is released from prison, he and cellmate Corey Madison go in search of work as ranch hands. But their new-found freedom is short-lived when they are arrested for a crime they did not commit. And when Corey dies after a savage beating from their captors, Sumner vows revenge. However, his plans are thwarted when he learns that the two deputies who beat Corey have lost their jobs and are now themselves on the run from the law.
