Publicada en 1908, Una habitación con vistas es una de las novelas más deliciosas y entrañables de E. M. Forster. Situada entre una Florencia todavía virgen del azote del turismo pero integrada en el grand tour de los viajeros europeos y la rígida Inglaterra victoriana, la novela desarrolla una historia de amor y sentimientos encontrados en cuyo transcurso Lucy Honeychurch, joven perteneciente a la buena sociedad inglesa, intenta abrir camino a su personalidad superando el obstáculo de las convenciones sociales. En estas páginas llenas de ironía y sutil humor que llevó al cine en su día James Ivory, Forster despliega una variada y atractiva galería de personajes y de sugerentes contrastes que hacen de ella una obra inolvidable.
