The word âYogaâ has been derived from the verb form of Sanskrit word âYujâ which means to add or tie. The word âYogaâ is in noun form which means union. Here, this union addresses the union of a personâs soul with the Almighty. âYogaâ has been defined in different ways by various scholars.
Yoga is not only said to be an effort to obtain internal peace and happiness but it is also said to be a method to make the unrest mind cool and calm and to direct own energy in beneficial directions.
According to Patanjali, 'Yoga is the spiritâs confinement.' In other words, it can be said that Yoga is nothing but is a power to control mental disposition.
