The fishermen of the Somali coastline had complained about foreign commercial ships that had trespassed to either dump chemical waste or carry out illegal fishing of massive scale. As a result of the ongoing civil war and lack of official coast guards, shipping companies from various countries took advantage of the situation.
Local fishermen with simple small boats were unable to fish in their territorial water and were intimidated by the presence of the foreign ships with their illegal activities. Idris, Roble and their other fishermen friends had no other choice but taking matters into their own hands by confronting the foreign ships. It turned out that these ships were owned by wealthy and powerful businessmen who would not allow “pirates” stand in their way.
The fishermen friends planned on using a non violent approach to demand a ransom from the commercial ship owners who were making millions from their coast but their plan did not work as smoothly as they were hoping. The situation escalated to a nightmare but they could not back down now. However way it went from here, there would be a high price paid: Either in money or life.
