The Danube from its spring in the Black Forest to the delta, by a painter and correspondent who went down it in 1891 with a canoe and a sketchbook. Millet was among the best American illustrators of his day and died on the Titanic. This edition adds sixty plates of Danube painting bound with the text, among them works by Anton Hlávacek, Emil Jakob Schindler and Heinrich Vosberg, dating from 1633 to 1913.
