Ojo the Unlucky sets out to collect the ingredients of a spell that will unfreeze his petrified uncle — a left wing of a yellow butterfly among them — and travels with a patchwork servant girl who was brought to life with too much brain furniture. Baum wrote the seventh Oz book after a bankruptcy had driven him back to the series he had tried to end. Scraps is his best invention after Dorothy, and she has no interest whatever in being a good girl. Its 111 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
