Voice Of The Master : Lessons In Kryia Yoga

Welcome to this exploration of the life and teachings of Yogananda, one of the most influential spiritual figures of the modern age. A master of yoga and a bridge between Eastern and Western traditions, Yogananda dedicated his life to awakening humanity to its divine potential.

Born Mukunda Lal Ghosh in India in 1893, he displayed an early affinity for spirituality, drawn to saints and mystical experiences. Under the guidance of his guru, Sri Yukteswar, he trained in the deep science of yoga and self-realization. In 1915, he formally became a monk of the Swami Order, receiving the name Paramahansa Yogananda. By 1920, he traveled to the United States to speak at the International Congress of Religious Liberals in Boston, marking the beginning of his decades-long mission to introduce the wisdom of yoga to the West.

Establishing the Self-Realization Fellowship in 1925, he built a spiritual home for seekers from all walks of life, emphasizing meditation, devotion, and the balance between inner realization and worldly responsibilities. He taught that "the season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success" and encouraged his students to cultivate divine love, and an unshakable connection to the Infinite.

His book, *Autobiography of a Yogi*, published in 1946, continues to captivate readers with its blend of philosophy, personal experiences, and profound insights. It has influenced countless individuals, including Steve Jobs, George Harrison, and countless seekers who have discovered its wisdom at just the right moment in their lives. His timeless message—"Change yourself and you have done your part in changing the world"—resonates today, as more people search for meaning beyond material gain.
