The Time Machine follows an English scientist known only as the Time Traveller, who invents a machine capable of moving through time. Determined to explore the future, he journeys hundreds of thousands of years ahead and discovers a world very different from his own.
There he encounters two distinct species descended from humanity: the gentle and childlike Eloi, who live carefree lives on the surface, and the mysterious Morlocks, who dwell underground and maintain the machinery that sustains civilization.
