I really enjoyed the tv adaptation of this, so i thought iâd give it a go. it was decently similar in storyline to the show, which i expected, since the first couple of seasons are actually based pretty strongly on the book. what bothered me however was, how overly dramatic the protagonistsâ thought processes were. also, itâs amazing how incredibly toxic ALL of the parents are. the book also wasnât improved by the narrator, who actually sounds like a sixteen year old girl, but in my opinion wasnât made for a life as a novel narrator.
