A Gold Half Eagle

At the age of twenty-two Hal Chesterton's world is turned on its head. He could never have guessed a blocked watercourse heralded such a disastrous change to his life. His pa's lucky coin, a gold half eagle, responsible for a stroke of good luck, now bears a bitter fruit. For the first time, Hal has to stand on his own two feet, and the prospects don't look good. Gunfights, loose women and deception play havoc with his search for the culprit. Hot-headed and vengeful, he is not so easily deterred, but falling for a beautiful young woman clouds his judgment.
