Listen, i was fully prepared to give this book five stars, until that tedious “i need to make you hate me, to protect you” plot point. that’s just always needlessly dramatic and i hate it with a burning passion. having said that though, i think it was handled better in this book than most other instances, that i’ve come across it. it’s also not a huge part of the story, which is phenomenal, by the way. although i had a pretty clear idea of who had done it about halfway through, the little twist at the end was quite unexpected. honestly, i thoroughly enjoyed it, which is why it only took me a day to get through.
