It's meant mainly for those who are seeking God but have not yet decided and are lingering at the Wicket Gate. Spurgeon goes through the various excuses people give for not being devoted to the Lord entirely and tries to convince those standing at the gate to enter and have faith. His love for Christ and his dedication to bringing people to salvation through Christ is prominent throughout the work. Spurgeon's incredibly poetic and detailed description of Christ's sacrifice on the cross adds to the charm of this book.
