He saves everyone for a living. She is the first person who ever makes him want to be saved.
Marine scout sniper Nick Lassiter expects danger in mountain hideouts and covert missions, not in a North Carolina coffee shop. When a drugged gunman enters, Nick moves to disarm him—just as Ashleigh Desmond draws her own handgun to help.
Ashleigh means to stop the criminal. Instead, she shoots Nick in the backside.
Racked with guilt, Ashleigh follows the tattooed, irreverent sniper to the hospital. To distract him during bullet removal, she kisses him. Ashleigh is a pastor’s daughter, skilled carpenter, and virgin who swore never to date a Marine. Nick is a battle-hardened corporal with a fractured past and a girlfriend. They have nothing in common—until Ashleigh sees the chaotic house Nick shares with his team and steps in to take care of him.
As Ashleigh brings warmth to Nick's world, a deep bond forms. But terror soon follows. A death threat, a nail-packed bomb, and a sniper shot at a family gathering force them to confront a stalker. While Nick suspects Ashleigh's abusive ex-fiancé, the truth is far more personal: the attacker is Nick's jealous ex-girlfriend, Tisha.
Surviving the attacks pushes Nick to confront his fear of commitment. Ashleigh must decide if she can risk her heart on a man whose missions may leave her a young widow. Choosing mercy over vengeance and trust over fear, they build a future together on faith, honesty, and a promise of forever.
The Pastor's Daughter Who Shot the Marine is a warm, suspenseful, and humorous military romance about two opposites who discover that true courage isn't just facing gunfire—it’s staying, trusting, and choosing love.
