Theatre tells the story of Julia Lambert and Michael Gosselyn, young artistic couple who try them-selves in theatre management. Thanks to some theatre lovers they succeed and become rich and successful, but their love is fading. Julia considers Michael complacent and a bore, and starts an affair with a much younger Tom Fennel, an accountant. Tom doesn't take this relationship as serious as Julia and this stormy affair disturb lives of many people connected to this love triangle and their beloved theatre.
