"De tre musketerer" (1844) er Alexander Dumas’ store roman om den unge og eventyrlystne d’Artagnan, der i et 1600-tals Frankring drager mod Paris for at blive en del af kongens berømte musketerkorps. Her møder han de tre musketerer Athos, Porthos og Aramis. Sammen kommer de ud for adskillige eventyr i dronningens tjeneste, ikke mindst mod den onde kardinal Richelieu, under belejringen af La Rochelle.
