Edward and Shanti had been together since college. They always knew they wanted forever with each other, especially when Shanti got pregnant during her junior year and Edward’s senior year. With Edward being drafted into the NFL, they weren’t sure what their future would look like, but their love for each other was certain. So, they decided to get married.
Edward Barrons enters the NFL; they have their son, and life feels perfect. Both coming from divorced families, they swore they’d break the cycle. They were going to be the exception.
Wrong.
Years later, with a teenage son and Edward at the top of his game with the New Jersey Black Jackets, Shanti and Edward are divorced, living separate lives, and co-parenting from opposite ends of the country.
When Shanti decides to move back to Mayven Falls to be closer to Edward, she doesn’t expect to start feeling those things she swore she’d never feel for her ex-husband again.
With retirement on his mind and a desire to get his family back together, Edward is haunted by his regrets. Sacrificing his family for his career has been the biggest mistake of his life. Raising his son in a broken home, like he was raised in, was never part of the plan.
Does he have a second chance to get them back, or will he fumble his chance?
