Om denne bog

Step into the darker side of Victorian crime fiction with My Friend the Murderer, a gripping short story by Arthur Conan Doyle that explores guilt, betrayal, and the inescapable weight of past crimes. Centered on the chilling figure of Wolf Tone Maloney—a hardened convict tied to a string of brutal murders—the story unfolds within the bleak confines of prison life, where moral certainty is anything but clear. Through a tense and revealing conversation between Maloney and the prison doctor, Conan Doyle examines the psychology of a man who betrayed his criminal allies to save his own life, only to find himself trapped by fear, resentment, and looming revenge. Stark, atmospheric, and morally complex, this tale offers a powerful meditation on survival and consequence, showcasing Conan Doyle’s mastery beyond detective fiction and appealing to fans of classic crime, noir, and psychological drama.
