Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant is an autobiographical work by Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States and commanding general during the American Civil War. The memoir was written by Grant in the final years of his life, as he was facing financial difficulties and dealing with terminal cancer. Published posthumously in two volumes in 1885, it is widely regarded as one of the most eloquent and well-written presidential memoirs in American history.
