Snowbound: A company of traveling actors gets snowbound during a storm while venturing to their next locale. In order to pass the time, the actors share stories with each other. The Manager begins with one about the time he spent in an unsavory saloon before his time with the company. Next the Leading Lady shares a story about a certain play she worked on. The Wardrobe Mistress, a matronly woman not known among the company for speaking much, continues on with the promise of a story about a dead baby but fails to deliver. The Low Comedian goes next, telling of how he is always expected to bring a laugh, even in the direst of situations. Next up is the Prompter, telling a tale of a great flood. The Second Low Comedian follows up sharing stories of confessions he heard on another troubled train. The Young Man picks up the next story involving one of the characters the Second Low Comedian encountered on the other train. The Second Heavies then promises a story about another baby – but this one alive, not dead. The Singing Chambermaid is on next, recounting an anecdote from the start of her career. The Tragedian continues on with a story about his “hot youth.” The Super Master goes next with a story involving some chaos in the children’s theatre. The Advance Agent relates the tale of an actor he used to deal with and his shady background. The Master Machinist tells the story of a faulty star trap and the dangerous results. The Scene Painter goes next with a calm story from his past to help soothe the company after the star trap story. By the time the company is done telling their tales, the train is able to continue on through the storm.
