I used to think Lovecraft was impossible to narrate well. My early attempts at his work felt stiff and bogged down by archaic prose, so I almost gave up on them entirely. But The Haunter of the Dark was different.
Instead of fighting the original text, I sat down and adapted it—modernizing the script and smoothing out the flow so it's actually built for the ear.
What you get is a tight, one hour descent into paranoia and cosmic dread. It’s the story of a man slowly losing his mind in a room during a storm, convinced that a monstrous presence in a distant, abandoned steeple is hunting him.
Working on this one hit differently. Recording the final, chaotic climax in the dark actually got under my skin and creeped me out in the booth.
