Clara Reeve was a prominent English writer in the 18th century. Reeve was one of the first writers of Gothic fiction and her book The Old English Baron is considered an early classic of that genre. The plot centers around the adventures of Sir Philip Harclay who returns to England only to find out his good childhood friend has died. A table of contents is included.
