When Bravo, a blind dog, is cast aside and Smoke, a three-legged cat, is thrown away for no longer being “perfect,” their lives seem destined for loneliness. But when the two meet by chance, they discover that friendship can grow in the unlikeliest of places.
Together, Bravo and Smoke learn to survive, to trust again, and to lean on each other’s strengths. Their bond leads them to new friends, a kind woman in need of help, and eventually to a young boy who, like them, knows what it feels like to be rejected for being different.
