The Wendigo :

A short tale of horror out in the Canadian wilderness by Algernon Blackwood, where a prosaic hunting trip turns into an adventure of confusing and twisted horror. Four men, Doctor Cathcart, Simpson his nephew and their guides Hank and Defago venture into the Canadian bush in search of Moose.

What they find instead is an encounter with a primeval horror that defies true description.
