In a small, post-Victorian town of Allegheny, Pennsylvania, there is The Street â a community of middle class people, looking to find their place in the world. One day, a stranger who presents himself as K. shows up in The Street and takes a boarding room at the Page house, home of Sidney Page, young woman on her way to become a nurse. The identity and the past of mysterious K. immediately become a matter of the community.
