Itâs a 4.5 It didnât impacted me like the first one but because I already knew the characters (mostly) and what are they dealing with, also this one I felt it less heart racing and more like introspection and realizing who they are and what are they standing for, which it was great to me, no because itâs not a 5 star doesnât mean I didnât love it, âcause I did. I guess I get to empathize more with the first serial killer than this one, could be âcause I wasnât paying that much attention to it too (my bad), but I was more interested about Gurney, his marriage and how everything in his life was so tense and fragile and he just ran away from everything. Love what the author did here, that even that Madeleine itâs such a wonderful, patient, splendid and thoughtful woman and wife, she still has her weakness points and she can commit mistakes and can say things that she didnât meant. I liked a lot to see that dynamic, it made it feel real. I adore this two so much! How they complement each other, how Gurney thinks multiple possibilities thanks to her and how, even if theyâre not okay, they solve things communicating and understanding each other. I get to know them more and that was my favorite part. The end left me breathless!!! That was cruel move! Aaaah!
