I canât find the right words that describes how much I ADORE this book! Obviously thrillers and suspense are always gonna be my jam and what I enjoy the most. Besides that, let me talk about you the characters âcause I love them. Gurney was such a great character to read and being in his mind, knowing all his thought process, how he was understanding everything with you, listening what he realized, what he thought, what he kept for his own and never said. Was a man with problems, with a big brain but that had learned from his mistakes. Also, can we talk about Madeleine? What a wonderful woman! So sarcastic, so direct and never afraid of saying what she was thinking or feeling. To me, it made sense why she was with Gurney eve tho she didnât like how he acts or what his priorities were, she was the one who made everything work out. I would never forget that scene where she says to him how great that thing he did was and then the âI mean it, Iâm impressâ and how that made him feel, was such a adorable part to read. I never read thrillers to being surprise by the plot or for knowing the murder, I wanna know the behaviors, what made them, what they lived and how we ended up there. This book gave me that and more. Was exciting âtil the end. Love when authors make this two characters that are mostly the same, that could become the same, but then itâs shown how our choices make us, that we canât control or past, our environment or how other people hurt us, but we can choose.
