W.E.B. Du Bois was an American historian and civil rights activist. Du Bois, along with Booker T. Washington, was one of the most influential African Americans in the early 20th century. Du Bois and Washington wanted many of the same things but through different means. Their contributions helped pave the way for Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was enacted just 1 year after Du Bois death.
