Sobre este libro

Two sisters come to a country village where two men and the whole neighborhood misread which of them is loved, and a fever epidemic settles nothing. Martineau was the most famous woman writing on economics in England and this was her only novel of contemporary life. This edition includes a gallery of 54 plates bound with the text, among them paintings by Edward Hicks, Myles Birket Foster and George Morland, dating from 1770 to 1887.
