I need some time to process this book. Because it left me with more questions than answers, and honestly, I feel like I was on a completely different wavelength than the author 🤣 First of all, in the Powerless trilogy, I completely sympathized with Kitt and genuinely felt sorry for everything he went through. But in this book, I just couldn’t connect with him the same way, I didn’t like him as much or feel as sorry for him as before. His “love” for Kai felt less like affection and more like obsession. As for Mara (or Death), she also left me with more questions than answers and definitely a bit mind-blown. She was also kind of a badass. One thing I really didn’t like, both in this book and in Fearless, is the fact that Blair somehow got to live and that Lenny was the one who helped her. Why does she get to live when Adena didn’t?? And Mak 😭😭😭 Reading about his death twice was absolutely heartbreaking, but knowing he went peacefully heals my heart just a little bit. PS. I need to know what Kit’s powers are!!!!!
