I enjoyed Court of Ravens. The ending however was by far the best part. That said, I actually felt Shadows So Cruel was better written overall. The beginning of the series felt choppy, and I struggled to get into the rhythm of the author’s voice. The pacing was off, and the characters, while fine, didn’t stand out as especially unique. Despite that, the book did make me question my moral compass a few times, and the shock factor was definitely there, even if it got a bit repetitive. It’s a book with layers, but one that didn’t quite stick the landing for me until the very end.
