Torn from his mundane life by a trespassing lust fairy, our hero, Matthew Cross' story begins when he finds himself unceremoniously ripped from earth.

That is after said fairy's attempt to eat him goes spectacularly wrong and she is left with no choice but to get rid of him before she is caught.

Unfortunately for Matt however, that ends up with him being dumped straight into a dragon's lair, specifically Xylera the Terrible, the Bringer of a Thousand Dooms, the Sorrow of the Waking Land, the Bleakbringer, the Life Ender, the Skybreaker, and the Matriarch of the Shadow Wing Flight's lair.

But instead of finding his life abruptly cut short by the magnificent creature, Matt discovers himself to be her savior, because for the last several decades, Xylera has been unwillingly imprisoned in her lair by a magical curse. A curse that some way, somehow, has been written in COBOL.
