Masters of Death : A witty, spellbinding fantasy from the author of The Atlas Six

Audiolibro

Vampires, ghosts and death itself - from the international bestselling author of The Atlas Six, Masters of Death by Olivie Blake is a spellbinding queer fantasy.

'Olivie Blake is a mind-blowing talent' - Chloe Gong, author of These Violent Delights

This book is about an estate agent. Only she’s a vampire, the house on sale is haunted, and its ghost was murdered.

When Viola Marek hires Fox D’Mora to deal with her ghost-infested mansion, she expects a competent medium. But unbeknownst to Viola, Fox is a fraud – despite being the godson of Death.

As the mystery unfolds, Viola and Fox are drawn into a quest that neither wants nor expects. They'll need the help of a demonic personal trainer, a sharp-voiced angel and a love-stricken reaper. And it transpires that the difference between a mysterious lost love and a dead body isn’t nearly as distinct as you’d hope.

Viola Marek is a real estate agent who happens to be a vampire. The house she is currently trying to sell is haunted by its previous owner, Tom Parker. One of her paranormal friends, a demon, gives her a solution: to contact Fox D'Mora. Fox calls himself a medium, but he can only talk to Death, his godfather. Just as Viola and Fox are about to exorcise the ghost, Death is kidnapped. Now, Fox must play a timeless game against a demon king to get his godfather back, help Viola, and rekindle a lost love. It is really hard to even begin to describe this book. I will admit, I had to pay a little more attention than I wanted to understand what was going on. I think that is why I didn't completely understand the game, or at least the way someone could win. Still, I stayed for the characters, I think that is the best part of this book. I loved the relationships between the characters, especially between Death and Fox. By the end it felt like the core characters became a family of sorts, and I loved that as well.
