Susan Orlean es periodista y escritora. Publica de forma regular en The New Yorker desde 1992 y ha colaborado con medios como The Globe, Rolling Stone, Esquire o Vogue. Es autora de la novela El ladrón de orquídeas, cuya adaptación cinematográfica fue merecedora de un premio Oscar, y de varios libros de periodismo, entre los que se encuentran Sábado noche y La biblioteca en llamas, ambos publicados en España por temas de hoy.
