When the Imagine Network commissioned a documentary on mermaids, to be filmed from the cruise ship Atargatis, they expected what they had always received before: an assortment of eyewitness reports that proved nothing, some footage that proved even less, and the kind of ratings that only came from peddling imaginary creatures to the masses.

Much like its full novel sequel, the horror could have been better. The scenes are too few, and it takes a bit to get them.

Excellent novela to introduce de concept and the next story told in the novel "Into the drowning deep". It is entertaining, tense and well written. Love the science that accompanies it and how Mira Grant achieves always her characters to be so real. Perfect book to accompany you during a few commutes since it is very short.
