Listen to this sweet heartwarming true story about a runaway dog who arrived late one stormy night at my home nestled in the forest on a hilltop on the island of Maui. He had a frayed yellow nylon cord rope wrapped tightly around his neck, and his fur was filled with mud. Most likely he had fled from an abusive environment. He found refuge at my home. He stepped into my life and opened my heart, becoming my companion and best friend. This was a true Godsend. Sparkey's sweet spirit has touched the hearts of many children and adults alike.
