Enoch existed prior to the events surrounding the Great Flood and was son of Jared, father of the famously long-lived Methuselah and grandfather of Noah.
The Book of Enoch is considered a canonical Apocrypha and is said to have been written by Enoch himself, although this is disputed by some and many believe it was begun in the second century BC.
