The Fellowship of the Ring

audiolibro

Continuing the story begun in The Hobbit, this is the first part of Tolkien’s epic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings.

Sauron, the Dark Lord, has gathered to him all the Rings of Power – the means by which he intends to rule Middle-earth. All he lacks in his plans for dominion is the One Ring – the ring that rules them all – which has fallen into the hands of the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins.

In a sleepy village in the Shire, young Frodo Baggins finds himself faced with an immense task, as his elderly cousin Bilbo entrusts the Ring to his care. Frodo must leave his home and make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.

I’ve already watched the movies ‘cause I was curious and it’s incredible how different and similar it is, like the adaptations are epic and tense, but I really enjoy the book, it’s like a nice travel, where you are part of the group and you don’t care if something else happens sooner or later, you just have to worry about being there. Also, Tolkiens way to describe and out you in the mood that he wants it’s something unbelievable that I just experienced with King, which is one of my all time favorite authors, so I love it very very much. It’s a wonderful read. I love his characters and personalities, I love the corruption from the ring even to the most pure or strong soul, but I love that there’s also a lot of friendship and uninterested help. What a beautiful story.
