The Earth is made up of several distinct layers, each with its unique properties and composition. At the very center lies the inner core, which is composed mainly of iron and nickel. This inner core is extremely hot, with temperatures reaching up to 9,932 degrees Fahrenheit. Surrounding the inner core is the outer core, which is also made of iron and nickel but in a liquid state. The movement of the liquid outer core is responsible for generating the Earth's magnetic field, which protects us from harmful solar radiation.
