El Loco

Este es un relato inquietante, cruel y sobrecogedor. Es breve, contado a manera de diario. Aunque corto, sus palabras no son efímeras. A lo largo de los días, el juez desvela los secretos de la naturaleza humana. Quien rastree sus pasos se percatará que no existe criterio moral para salvar una vida u otra. En este relato, El Loco, Maupassant nos invita a seguir a un juez, que ha muerto a sus ochenta y dos años de edad. Muchos lo aclamaban en vida y fueron ellos los que le lloraron el día de su funeral. Los asesinos le temían; los estafadores intentaban ocultarse de él y las víctimas se refugiaban en la justicia que impartía. Pero escondía su lado más brutal y monstruoso.
