So, what is stress? In psychology, stress is defined as the general adaptation syndrome. Stress is a function of our body to adapt to the environment.
It's very important to be stressed; we even have positive stress that mobilizes us, makes us faster, more intelligent; this is the good side of stress. Fortunately, stress exists, because otherwise, humans would have been eliminated by their predators for millennia.
But of course, and we know it, there is also negative stress, which slows us down, prevents us from doing what we need to do, makes us suffer, and sometimes can make us sick, because it produces a large amount of hormones like cortisol, which are very harmful to our health, as well as to our brain and intelligence when its levels are high and chronically present.
This stress exhausts us considerably and against which we exhaust ourselves fighting. Stress is today considered a real public health challenge. So, with this mindfulness meditation program, little by little, your stress will become regulated and perhaps, almost, become your best friend.
