By Shandilya, a sage well-taught, The path of pure devotion sought.
This Sutra guides the heart's true need, To plant a loving, lasting seed.
It says that Bhakti, gentle and high, Needs knowledge as its guiding eye.
For perfect love must understand, The truth that forms this mortal land.
Not ritual acts or empty plea, But deep surrender sets us free.
A selfless love, a constant gaze, Through all of life's confusing maze.
The highest aim is union's bliss, To seal the soul with God's own kiss.
So seek the wisdom, clear and fine, And let your inner spirit shine.
