This audiobook was a real surprise to me, even though I read the summary before selecting it. So much I loved about the story: shock of a start after a glimpse in the past, no highlighting race, describing a marginal sexual identity in a respectful manner without lecturing the reader, and hot, emotionally engaging mature sequences. The only thing that made me squint was the final reconnecting that to me felt rushed - nearly gave me a whiplash, really. Other than that, I loved the novel. The narrator did an excellent job with this, as usual of him.
