Boethius was a Roman senator and philosopher in the early 6th century. Boethius was a public servant under King Theodoric the Great but was later imprisoned and executed on charges of treason. While Boethius was in jail he wrote The Consolation of Philosophy, a classic book which covers a wide range of topics such as fortune, death, and other issues. A table of contents is included.
