"Ulysses" is a novel by Irish writer James Joyce, first published in 1922. This outstanding example of modernist literature is one of the most influential and complex works of the 20th century.

The novel is a reworking of Homer's epic work "The Odyssey", transferred into the context of one day — June 16, 1904 — in the life of an ordinary man named Leopold Bloom in Dublin.
