The Mint

E-book

Based on original edition first published in 1936 by Doubleday, Doran and Company, New York, and printed at The Country Life Press, Garden City, New York. The Mint by T. E. Lawrence describes his time in the Royal Air Force, working, despite having held senior rank in the army (colonel), as an ordinary aircraftman, under an assumed name, 352087 Ross.

The book is notable for its sharp observation, for the insight it gives into Lawrence himself, and for the censorship issues around its publication. The text contains the frank cursing and rough language of military barracks.

For anyone not familiar with the author's name, he's most famous as "Lawrence of Arabia".
