Two works in one volume: the Babylonian creation and flood legends, and the Egyptian Book of the Dead with the hieroglyphic text explained - the funerary spells that were meant to get a soul past every gate. This edition is bound with 39 plates of painting, among them works by Frederick Arthur Bridgman and Sydney Carline, and 21 in-text illustrations restored and coloured for this volume.
