Situated along the Delaware Bay and first inhabited by the Lenape Indians, Cumberland County has a rich agricultural and industrial history. They have distinguished histories of their own--Greenwich was a major port of entry in colonial America; Port Norris was the "oyster capital of the world" in the 1800s; and Seabrook Farms was the country's biggest vegetable factory.
