Public perception and attitudes of forest owners towards forests in Europe : Commentary and conclusions of a COST working group (E3-WG1, 1994-1998)

Within the framework of the COST working group (E3-WG1, 1994-1998), this document presents 15 research papers on the following topics: the European public challenge concerning forest landscapes, environmental and economic aspects, integration of non-commercial values, attitudes of farmers and of the rural world, reafforestation of agricultural lands, public opinion, perception, preferences and appropriation, perception by those involved at the local level, recreational forests.
